Halo 3 question please help!?

Okay I'm at the part in Halo 3 called The Covenant and then the Mission objective is called Breach the Citadel. They just dropped the two huge Scarabs. How do I get past them? Or do I do something else entirely? Also how far along am I in the game? Please and Thank you!
