In regards to Alpha Phi Alpha, Can you buy para as a gift even if you are non-greek ?

My friend is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and I wanted to purchase para for him as a gift. I certainly would never want to offend him nor the fraternity. So I wanted to know. Is it appropriate for a non- greek to give a member para as a gift?
