Leather chuck taylors ( conserve) durability?

I want to be some leather chucks. But I want to know how long will they last before they get that chuck syndrome (cracked sides,peeling of of the stripe and the metal circle falling off). My regular chucks lasted 1 years before they got all beat up (and i wear them almost everyday). Im just thinking leather will have a longer life then canvas. Am I right? Also I want to get them in white but when i usually get white sneakers,there dirty in about a week. Will white leather be easier to keep clean?
