Why do we give credit to Clinton for a strong economy when it was the G.O.P.?

I think most educated people, who were of age at the time, remember the Contract with America and its significance, but usually, from what I've seen; sitting presidents get the recognition and blame for the economy during their presidency. That said, President Clinton did play a part, however. After his initial jump to the left and the subsequent democrat loses in the house and senate, giving republicans control, Bill did come to the center and even a little to the right on a lot of issues. This allowed congress to get things done. Another reason why Bill gets credit for the economy at that time is because most of the news media in this country has a left leaning bias, so that plays a part. Because the truth of the matter is that even though the economy under Bill Clinton was good for most of his term, it was a bubble. A large portion of the economy under Bill Clinton was inflated. Things began to cool down in 2000 just as George Bush was taking office.
