I'm not good at talkin to guys even just as friends!!!?

probably the stupidest question ever!! but when guys come up to me and start a conversation the usually just end up walkin away and when i try to talk to guys and anyone for that matter i look retarded and they think i'm a freak.....i a great person getting me to talk is the obstacle...help?!?!?!
