Summer star chart?!?

Orion is definitely a winter constellation, and though somewhat southerly is not in "the south". The main constellations you should be seeing to the south are Scorpius and Sagittarius (a big "J" with a top crossbar lying on its side, and a teapot). The really bright object behind the teapot is Jupiter.
